Stefan Raab is back and is personally overseeing Germany’s ESC 2025 selection. Together with RTL, he launched the new format "Chefsache ESC 2025", where 24 artists had to impress the jury with either original songs or cover versions. Only 14 of them made it to the semifinals – including Feuerschwanz.
From Wacken to the ESC – Feuerschwanz with "Dragostea din tei"
For their first performance, Feuerschwanz chose a rock version of the summer hit "Dragostea din tei" and turned the stage into a medieval spectacle. With armor, fire, and dancing knights, they delivered a show unlike anything seen before at the ESC.
Jury head Stefan Raab couldn't resist his usual provocative commentary on their song choice:
"You really had the guts to pick such a crappy song."
At the same time, he admitted that the band had significantly improved the track:
"You made this song 100% better."
The audience celebrated their performance, and the jury rewarded Feuerschwanz with a spot in the semifinals.

With their place in the semifinals secured, Feuerschwanz have overcome the first major hurdle. On February 22, they will finally present their official ESC song – and then we’ll see if they can claim a spot in the grand finale.
We're excited to find out what Feuerschwanz has planned for the ESC and are keeping our fingers crossed that metal will get its chance in 2025!
